About the ERC
James J. Wiet Education
Mr. Wiet is associate director of the center. As such, he works closely with the director and professional research staff in the implementation of ERC's major initiatives. In addition to his administrative duties, Mr. Wiet is responsible for organization and development of educational programs, public service initiatives, and funded conferences, workshops, and seminars. These activities include the Annual Illinois Energy Conference, the Teacher Energy Education Workshops, and the WATTS programs. Mr. Wiet also assists in the coordination of the Midwest Universities Energy Consortium, Inc., a regional association involving 20 major research universities in the Big Ten states.
