Mr. Sheaffer works on a variety of programs at the Energy Resources Center (ERC) focused on improving the energy efficiency of energy market end users. As a part of the Engineering Solutions Group of the ERC, Mr. Sheaffer leads comprehensive energy and productivity assessments for industrial and commercial clients. In this role, Mr. Sheaffer draws on extensive assessment experience developed as a former Lead Student for the US Department of Energy Industrial Assessment Center (IAC). Mr. Sheaffer is experienced in developing strategies to help facilities improve energy and production efficiency within the manufacturing process and all supporting systems. Currently, Mr. Sheaffer is leading a program targeted at providing Chicago area manufacturers with energy and productivity assessments. He is also developing an energy management feasibility study for UIC. He recently completed his work as the Program Manager of the State Technologies Advancement Collaborative (STAC) Chemicals Total Assessment Audit program. This program provides technical assistance to Midwestern chemicals manufacturers in the form of assessments that examine all aspects of clients' business, management and production operations. In addition, Mr. Sheaffer supports a variety of ongoing initiatives within other research groups at the ERC.
