Total Assessment Audits - Chemicals Program

The Total Assessment Audits Chemicals program is a holistic, multi-organizational business assistance effort that provides on-site energy conservation, waste minimization and productivity improvement services at no cost to small and medium sized chemicals companies.

On-site assessments are conducted by a team including industry experts, process engineers, government agencies, academic institutions, non-governmental organizations, and utility companies.

The Process

On-site Assessment
- Targeted interviews with company personnel
- Review of existing plant operations/processes
- Extensive data collection and analysis

Follow up energy assessment performed by the US DOE Industrial Assessment Centers.

Assessment Report
- Extensive mapping of existing operations/processes
- Recommendations to improve plant performance including:
1. Energy efficiency recommendations
2. Pollution prevention strategies
3. Technology integration
4. Business processes improvements

Follow up meetings are conducted to present findings to clients.

Eligibility

Small to medium sized chemicals manufacturers with an interest in improving company performance.

Facilities must have between $250,000 and $2 million in utility expenditures per year.

Must have less than 500 employees on site.
