
Midwest Clean Energy Application Center
Established by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
in March of 2001, the Midwest Combined Heat and Power Application
Center (MAC) provides education, outreach support, and technical
assistance in the commercialization and deployment of Cooling, Heating,
and Power (CHP) technologies in the eight state Midwest region.
The MAC is a partnership between the Energy Resources
Center and the Gas Technology Institute (GTI). As the prime contractor,
the ERC leads the implementaion of the Center’s initiatives.
As part of the education and outreach program,
the MAC is establishing a web site that will provide:
- CHP literature, reports, presentations, and
other materials.
- Case studies, links to current and prospective
CHP sites, and key CHP contacts in the Midwest region.
As part of the technical assistance program, the
MAC provides the following services on a case-by-case basis:
- Initial site screening assistance
- Technology evaluation
- Site assessment visits
- Project justification assistance
- Partnership assistance
- SWAT team assistance
