Illinois Industries of the Future Program

The Energy Resources Center, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Chicago Regional Office and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), has developed the Illinois Industries of the Future (IOF) program that provides educational information on crosscutting technologies for the industrial market.

The goal of this program and the accompanying seminar series is to provide information, education and technical assistance on technologies and concepts that have crosscutting applications across many industrial sectors. In applying these technologies and tips, Illinois businesses grow by maximizing energy efficiency, reducing waste and improving their bottom line. In keeping with the DOE Office of Industrial Technologies Best Practices Program, the Illinois IOF focuses on the following technologies:

> Steam
> Compressed Air
> Combined Heat and Power
> Motor Efficiency
> Process Heating

The Energy Resources Center created educational modules for each of these technologies, including a presentation and worksheet exercises. Five seminars were held around northern Illinois to disseminate this information to small and medium sized industrial facilities. These seminars also helped promote ongoing energy efficiency and outreach activities sponsored by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Please review the many tools and resources made available on this site, and contact us if you have any questions about the program and how it can help your industry.
