Capabilities

The ERC Policy and Assessment group is focused on providing its clients with three key services:

1. In-depth analysis of the economic, market, and environmental impacts of energy technologies
2. The evaluation of impacts arising from energy-related public policy initiatives
3. Performance evaluation of financial corporate decision-making for R&D investment portfolios
   

Key projects in Policy & Assessment include:

• GTI Technology Evaluation Program – The centerpiece of the P&A Group’s work in the area of technology evaluation capacities.

• Federal Research Bank Project – A key example of P&A Group’s capacity in the the assessment of energy issues and public policy.

• Venting/Flue Gas Management Benefits -- Assessing the market impacts of the GTI-developed venting installation guidelines and vent-sizing tables for mid-efficiency, fan-assisted natural gas furnaces.

• IL Residential Energy Efficiency Project – This partnership project with the private sector serves the public interest in identifying and prioritizing residential energy efficiency programs in Illinois.
